Imaad Majeed (i/am/we/us/they/them) was once described as a ‘force of nature’ by a travelling poet who witnessed a poetry circle they were instrumental in bringing together; one that continues to gather on the first Saturday of every month, since November, 2011, though they are no longer in regular attendance. their work, across various mediums, individual and collective, also ⌀ ❥ ↻௹, has been described with various adjectives, sometimes verbs, becoming legible to certain worlds through radically inclusionary and exclusionary approaches to language, place, and timing (intentional&/unconscious) and we are resolving to be unperturbed by teleological errors that may arise from a difficult relationship to memory, erasure and identity. As of late, they are returning to their body, exhausted by lines of flight, losing faith in a media environment where language drifts and we lose touch with meaning, in a conundrum of immanence and limerence, so we are changing our relationship to speed, particularly that of the mind, reminded by nature, circumstance and fate to hone in on my most sensitive sense organ, thereby continuing to attune, listen, and resonate, while codeswitching between දෙමළ, சிங்களம் and English, in an earnest attempt to live a good life and survive in conditions of precarity. It remains to be seen&/heard&/felt how they and their work will be described going forward. For the moment, i am based somewhere in s̶r̶ ilankai.
